The Nine Choirs of Angels

Angelology, the study of Angels, holds that there are nine "choirs", or branches of Angels, which include:

~ Seraphim ~ These are the highest order of Angels, who are said to be shining bright, as they are closest to God. They are pure light.

~ Cherubim ~ Usually portrayed as chubby children with wings a la Cupid, the Cherubim are the second highest order. They are pure love.

~ Thrones ~ The triad of Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones reside in the highest realms of Heaven. Thrones are the bridge between the material and the spiritual, and represent God's fairness and justice.

~ Dominions ~ The Dominions are the highest in the next triad of Angels. They are the overseers or managers of Angels, according to God's will.

~ Virtues ~ These Angels govern the order of the physical universe, watching over the sun, the moon, the stars, and all of the planets, including Earth.

~ Powers ~ As their name implies, Powers are peaceful warriors who purify the universe from lower energies.

~ Principalities ~ The third triad consists of the Angels closest to Earth. The Principalities watch over the planet, including nations and cities, to ensure God's will of peace on Earth.

~ Archangels ~ This choir comprises the overseers of humankind and of the Guardian Angels. Each Archangel has a specialty representing an aspect of God.

~ Guardian Angels ~ Each individual has personal Guardian Angels assigned to him or her throughout life.

This model of nine choirs dates from the biblical references to Seraphim and Cherubim, and was expanded in the 5th-century writings of Pseudo-Dionysius and then popularized in John Milton's poetic work Paradise Lost.

The Spirit World and Spirit Guides

The spirit world is another dimension that exists alongside our material reality and is populated with nonphysical beings, or spirits. It is not some place up in the sky or removed from us, but is present and accessible at all times, requiring only the willingness, intention, and openness to make contact with those beings that reside there. Our awareness and consciousness are the vehicles that allow us to accomplish this.

In this alternate nonphysical reality called the spirit world, you will find ancestors, Archangels, Ascended Masters, religious figures, deceased loved ones, Fairies, and, of course, Spirit Animals. These beings are extensions of God, Source, or whatever name you give to All-That-Is, just as those of us and everything else in the material world are. What we call matter is denser and more tangible to our usual senses, whereas accessing this other dimension requires greater receptivity, heightened awareness, and a consciousness that allows for the existence of this aspect of being.

The term Spirit Guide, also known as a helping spirit or guardian spirit, is a term for any of these spiritual beings that help us in a life-positive way. We can call on them for guidance, protection, encouragement, and inspiration. Some have been with us since childhood, while others have appeared at various periods in our life, perhaps to help us through a difficult transition. We may see them, hear them, feel them, or just know they are with us, and we can have any number of Spirit Guides throughout our lives, whether we are aware of them or not. They want to help us have a more peaceful, harmonious, and happier life, yet will not interfere with our free will. They are happy to serve and willingly do so whenever called upon.

Gifted Guidance Life Purpose ~ Let Go

Walk away from this situation in order to resolve it.

You have been struggling with a situation, unsure which direction to take.  The struggle is causing an energy blockage that is slowing your desired outcome.  This message counsels you to let go as a way of bringing about a peaceful resolution. First, you must let go emotionally. After all, you are overwhelmed by indecision and the stress of the situation.  Wouldn't it feel good to detach and be at peace? Especially if you are reassured that by doing so, you will bring about a more favorable outcome?

Ask the Angels for help in detaching by saying, "Guardian Angels and Archangels, thank you for helping me enjoy a tranquil mind and body.  I now choose to let go and detach from this situation.  I know that God's infinite wisdom is completely in charge of it and everyone involved.  I trust that everything is being worked out for my highest and best good.  And so it is."
