Raphael is also known as: Azarias, Israfel, or Labbiel
Raphael’s name means: “God heals”
Raphael has long been regarded as the angel of healing. His name may be derived from the Hebrew word Rophe, which means “medicine doctor”; or Rapach, which means “God heals the soul.”
Although Raphael isn’t named in the Bible, theologians believe he was the Archangel who healed the infirm at the Bethesda pond described in the Gospels. He is also thought to be one of the three Angels who visited the patriarch Abraham and his wife, Sarah, to help with their conception; as well as the Angel who healed Abraham’s grandson Jacob’s wrestling injuries and who gave King Solomon his magical ring.
In Catholicism, he is Saint Raphael, the patron of physicians, travelers, and matchmakers. Raphael appears by name in the Book of Tobit. This scriptural work, sometimes called the Book of Tobias, was lost and later rediscovered as a Dead Sea Scroll in Qumran, the temple of the ancient Essenes, in 1952.
The book describes the story of Tobit, a devoted and helpful Jewish man who was in such despair when he went blind that he asked God to let him die. The same evening of Tobit’s prayer, a woman named Sarah also begged God for death, out of grief for her seven husbands, who had each died on her wedding night.
His name also appears in another Dead Sea Scroll text, the Book of Enoch, in which his role upon Earth is described as “one of the holy angels, who is over the spirits of men.” In this book, the Lord charges Raphael with the task of healing Earth of the mess made by some fallen angels and giants, binding and casting out a demon, helping all of the children, and saving the world from corruption. Archangel Raphael is still focused on this mission today.
In Islamic scriptures, Raphael is known as Israfel, the Archangel who is destined to blow a large horn twice to signal Judgment Day. Legend holds that Raphael’s original name was Labbiel. When Labbiel sided with God on the question of whether to create humans, the Lord rewarded the Angel by changing his name to Raphael.
Clearing with Archangel Raphael
Raphael is the Archangel in charge of healing. He exudes a beautiful emerald-green glow, which provides healing energy. You can invite Archangel Raphael to enter your body and clear your Chakras of any residual fear. Raphael will spin his green healing light around each Chakra and help you to release all anxiety, guilt, or stress related to each Chakra.
Simply think or say, "Archangel Raphael, please enter my body and clear me of any imbalances or negative energy now!", and it is done. You can also ask Raphael to visit a loved one. The Angels will never violate God's will, or a person's free will, so your Angel invocation on behalf of another is a pure gift of love from God, the Angels, and yourself.
Raphael, the Angelic Physician
Archangel Raphael brings God’s healing light to Earth. He once told me in a meditation that rather than healing, his role consisted of revealing the true healed bodies that God created for all of us. To Raphael, everyone is already healthy in spiritual truth.

I’ve found that pets respond very quickly to Raphael’s healing work. They drink in the archangel’s energy like a healing elixir, and they regain their health rapidly as a result.
