Moon Phases ~ Full Moon (waning) ~ 05/22/16

May 23, 2016 ~ Full Moon (waning) ~ During the Full Moon, a veil of self-absorption is lifted and suddenly you gain access to an unbiased view of others. This is a rare moment when you can see yourself objectively and become aware of whether or not what you want in your heart is actually beginning to manifest in your life. Traditionally, the Full Moon phase stirs emotion, and this is because when you "see" what is happening, you may become upset if you are experiencing the "same old same" rather than the things you would like. If the Full Moon phase is a disappointment, be sure to use the next New Moon phase to take creative action in the direction of your dreams.

The conflict between self-determination and respecting people's boundaries reaches a crescendo today. Achieving results seems within reach as Mercury turns direct after three weeks of backtracking. But Mars is still retrograde and conflicts can escalate now that the angry red planet opposes the Sun. Meanwhile, the optimistic Sagittarius Moon reflects the big picture, creating problems that originate from sloppy thinking or incomplete planning.

The horizon seems wider today and new possibilities appear to lure us into the future. Although romantic Venus is still retrograde, we are less likely to look back, wondering if a past relationship decision was the right one. Our eyes are fixed on the distance, yet we cannot let go of the nagging thought that we have forgotten to do something important. Moving forward with a project is favored, even if we must change our plans later in the day.

The magical New Moon in Leo on August 14, 2015, connects with romantic Venus, charging the atmosphere with the potential of love. Since every New Moon initiates a monthly emotional cycle, we are empowered to plant seeds of intention so that our gardens manifest the beauty in our hearts. We are driven to bring our feelings out into the light for everyone to see. Although we can effectively plant the seeds of intention, satisfaction will likely be delayed since Venus is retrograde. The New Moon's proximity to pompous Jupiter encourages us to act with bravado, but it's wiser to practice humility, instead.

The Sun slips into mellow Cancer at 12:37 pm EDT, encouraging us to get in touch with our emotions while an awkward Venus-Pluto alignment prompts us to withdraw from others to protect our hearts. However, the Moon's shift into efficient Virgo at 12:58 pm turns us into busy bees and an irritating Sun-Saturn connection won't let us rest until our chores are done. Luckily, we can still find time to smell the flowers if we try.

During this Moon phase, there is a slight slowing down of enthusiasm due to an emerging desire to produce tangible results from the energy being expended. Although the progressive Aquarius Sun tempts us to strike out on our own, the stable Taurus Moon blankets reality with feelings of contentment. Meanwhile, lovely Venus drifts into the imaginal realms of watery Pisces where we can be confused by our desires. Happiness now depends on balancing our romantic side with a more practical approach.

Emotions begin to stir coupled with recognizing that the new beginnings you are making must also increase personal security to be worthwhile over the long haul.
