Gifted Guidance Weekly Astrology ~ March 30 to April 5

Prepare For Battle This Week . . . .

New Moon in Aries

There is great promise for new beginnings this week, thanks to a New Moon in Aries. The only problem is that you will have to fight every step of the way. Read more to get your battle plan ready!

Sunday, March 30 ~ New Moon in Aries

The New Moon in Aries on Sunday is your best launching pad all year because it's the annual lunation in pioneering Aries. Unfortunately, this New Moon is riddled with problems. First, the ruler of this New Moon, Aries, is moving retrograde. That alone is like being put in a boxing ring with a blindfold on. In addition to this, however, the Moon will be conjunct Uranus and square Pluto. This spells aggravation!

The best advice? Hold off until next week to initiate anything that can wait. You will save yourself one giant headache.

Tuesday, April 1 ~Sun in Aries square Jupiter in Cancer

Adding to the tension of the week is Tuesday's square between the Sun in Aries and Jupiter in Cancer. This will likely have you feeling optimistic, but let's be honest . . . . you will probably be too big for your britches. Slow your roll.

Jupiter in Cancer

Wednesday, April 2 ~ Sun conjunct Uranus in Aries and Mercury in Pisces trine Saturn Scorpio

Then, on Wednesday, the Sun will be conjunct Uranus, opening up unstable energy for just about anything to happen. Fortunately, with a trine between Mercury in Pisces and Saturn on the same day, you will be able to talk yourself out of any sticky situation.  At the very least you will be good at damage control.

Thursday, April 3 ~ Sun in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn

On Thursday, the Sun will square off with Pluto, and everyone will want to be in charge. Do not join this control-fest ~ it will only frustrate you. Instead, do your best to fly under the radar.

Saturday, April 5 ~ Venus in Pisces

Finally, on Saturday, love planet Venus slides into mystical, sensitive Pisces, where she will remain until May 2.  Looking for your soul mate?  Want to enhance your spiritual connection with your current lover?  You are in luck, because with Venus in Pisces there will be fantastic cosmic support to help you out.  In addition, now is the time to nourish the creative artist within.  Let your imagination soar.

Mars Retrograde ~ The Cosmic Chill Pill

Mars Retrograde

The Benefits of Slowing Down . . . .

It's that time again folks. Once every two years Mars, the planet that rules our motivation and ambition, turns retrograde for about a 2 1/2 month stretch. On March 1, 2014, Mars began this retrograde phase in partnership-oriented Libra, and will remain backpedaling until May 19. You have undoubtedly read all of the warnings about Mars Retrograde by now, and they are indeed accurate. Since Mars is the planet of initiation, you must have a strong and direct Mars if you ever want your endeavor to succeed. This is why astrologers advise against starting vital projects during this phase.

The "oomph" factor is missing or lessened somehow when Mars is retrograde. Often, we feel a sense of frustration during Mars Retrograde because we want to press forward in a certain area of our lives but feel as if our efforts to progress are futile. The Universe demands that we fortify what's happening in that area already rather than break new ground.  As long as you remember that simple rule you'll be fine. Mars Retrograde will not be your downfall.

When Mars is Your Ruler . . . .

If you are ruled by Mars however, either by having the Sun or Ascendant in Aries or Scorpio, then you belong to the VIP Mars club. Mars, as our ruling planet, has a special emphasis in our lives. When this planet moves direct we are enlivened and embroiled. We are full of vim and vigor. When retrograde however, we are forced into a cosmic time out. The Universe does not ask, but rather orders us to take a chill pill.

To be honest, I am somewhat relieved!

Why is that, you might ask?! When Mars turns retrograde I know that for at least a few weeks I will have time to fully inhale and exhale.  I have always been someone who feels the need to be constantly "doing" something and being productive . . . . especially lately.  I have become so busy that I rarely give myself any down time. So when Mars turns retrograde every couple of years I might experience a bout of frustration if I am trying to get something off the ground, but even so, I tend to be secretly thankful. Why? Because at the very least, I can take a bit of a break and allow things to develop, as opposed to starting anything new!

As soon as Mars enters his cave for hibernation I definitely feel the shift, however I then realize that I can take my foot off the proverbial gas pedal. There is a genuine "get it all done now" vibration in my energy field that is with me most of the time, but the Mars retrograde period allows me to slow down a bit, sit down and take some much needed "me" time.

Mars in Libra
Mars Retrograde in Libra

During this particular retrograde in Libra, Mars Retrograde urges us to revise our current strategy of how we use our energy to pursue and cultivate close partnerships. It will help us to stop pushing so hard and learn to let our relationships proceed organically for once, the way they are meant to. As a result, this retrograde may give you a reprieve from any of the usual partnership anxieties. Trying to make a relationship into what it isn't, pushing for a certain collaboration when someone isn't ready . . . . all of these partnership themes now have a giant "pause" button on them.

Be grateful. For the next couple of months, we get to simply BE in our relationships rather than try to direct them. What a refreshing change of pace!  And an opportunity to learn how to truly relate.

As you can see, Mars Retrograde does not have to be an endless cycle of frustration. It can actually be an invitation to reduce a great deal of your everyday anxiety and frustration. So go ahead and swallow the cosmic chill pill instead of fighting it. You will be glad you did!

Gifted Guidance Weekly Astrology ~ March 23 ~ 29

Ride the Highs and Lows with a Positive Attitude . . . .

This may shape up to be a fantastic week ~ until we get to Saturday. Then, unfortunately, matters of the heart might run the gamut of highs and lows so extreme a time out might be necessary. Until then, however, the good news is that you will have extraordinary communication aspects.

See what's in store for you personally with a Weekly Forecast Archangel Power Tarot reading from Gifted Guidance!

In the meantime, here is the lowdown on the key cosmic events for this week:

Wednesday, March 26 ~ Mercury in Pisces trine Jupiter in Cancer

Wednesday through Friday are five-star days for signing contracts, making important decisions, scheduling vital meetings or having conversations with anyone about a subject you want extraordinary support around.

On Wednesday, Mercury in dreamy Pisces will team up with expansive Jupiter in Cancer to help you sell anyone on your ideas. The faith others will have in your brainpower will be phenomenal, so be sure to use this to your advantage. In addition, you will be at the height of positive thinking, and your faith in yourself will run equally high. There is nothing you cannot figure out on this day, and no problem you can't solve.

Friday, March 28 ~ Mercury in Pisces sextile Pluto in Capricorn

What makes this even truer is the fact that by Friday Mercury will connect favorably to Pluto, allowing your razor-sharp perceptions to come through effortlessly. This will be a great day for researching or investigating. Dig into a project that requires your most cunning thinking. If you have to interview anyone or confront anyone to determine the truth of the matter, this is your day to do it. No one will be able to get a lie past you!

Saturday, March 29 ~ Venus in Aquarius trine Mars Retrograde in Libra and Venus in Aquarius square Saturn in Scorpio

The weekend begins with romantic promise, but it will quickly take a nose dive. First, Venus in Aquarius will be at a gorgeous angle to Mars. Your love nature and physical nature are compatible on this day. In fact, because both planets are in Air signs, there might be significant cerebral stimulation!

The problem is that all of this love potential might never make it into reality. That is because on the very same day Venus will square off with Saturn. You might second-guess yourself in matters of the heart, or feel too insecure to actually communicate what you want or need to a lover. Worst case scenario? Rejection. Ugh!

And that, friends, is your weekly forecast!  Have a fantastic week . . . and remember to go with the flow!!

Feng Shui to Get Organized

Clear the path ahead with easy Feng Shui tips

Get more organized and clear the path ahead, and you'll be amazed at how many new gifts can appear in your life!
In the universe around us everything is organized in a certain order, rhythm and flow. Feng Shui helps us get in tune with this universal energy.
The more you organize your home or office according to simple Feng Shui principles, the more the universe will support you in manifesting your goals.
Are you ready to open your life this year ~ to improve your health, find a new direction, land a promotion or attract more romance? Committing yourself to being more organized will help you clear your space for all the wonderful things waiting to come toward you.

Clear Your Entryway

The first and most important thing you can do to get more organized in any aspect of your life is to make sure the entrance to your home or apartment is neat and tidy. If you always enter and exit through clutter or chaos, guess what you will carry into your home . . . and out into the world? The entryway is the "mouth" of chi, or life energy. An entryway that is clean and beautiful allows chi to flow into the rest of your home and opens the space for organization to take hold everywhere.
Make sure shoes and boots are hidden away, coats are not hanging in the open near the doorway and that your entry looks neat and organized both inside and outside. The porch or walkway leading to the door should also be clear of clutter. Store trash receptacles, recycling bins and garden tools somewhere else. You'll enjoy coming home much more if the way is open and clear!

Enter Through Your Front Door

Our dependence on automobiles has led to the common practice of entering the house through the garage or through a side door. From the perspective of Feng Shui, this is definitely not a helpful practice. The typical garage is designed to be functional not beautiful. And most garages are full of clutter of one type or another. Very often a doorway that leads directly into a house from a garage or side yard is small and dimly lit. You may even pass through a storage area or laundry room as you enter your home in this way. This will not create the positive flow of energy that is possible to generate by entering through a front door, especially one that is clear and open and welcomes you home with a sense of peace and beauty.

Keep Things In Good Repair

Your overall level of organization will increase if you make sure that everything in your home is in good repair. Pay special attention to lighting fixtures and lamps ~ be sure to replace burnt out bulbs immediately so that your home stays well lit. This will help the chi in your home keep flowing freely to support you in many amazing ways. When things are broken, cracked or not working properly, it can slow you down. Just as order tends to inspire more order, so, too, cracked and broken appliances, loose door knobs and the like are impediments to an organized life.

Light the Corners

Clutter tends to gather in shadowy areas, so be sure that the living areas of your home are well lit, especially the corners. You and your family members or roommates will be much less apt to pile things in places that are highly visible. By shining some light on those "dump-spots," you may prevent them from attracting clutter in the first place!

Make Your Bed Every Morning

Start your day by making your bed and arranging the covers and pillows in an orderly and pleasing way. Make sure all your laundry has been put away and that your bedroom is neat. This should be your first gesture of organization every day, as it marks the passage from sleep to a new day and prepares the bedroom for your next night of sleep. Starting and ending your day in a well-ordered environment will inspire a more organization in the rest of your life.

Leave the Bathroom Tidy

Another area to pay attention to in the morning is the bathroom. Make sure you hang towels neatly after you bathe or shower, and keep your toiletries tucked away to avoid creating clutter around the sink or tub. Tending to these two areas ~ the bedroom and bathroom ~ will set a tone of organization that will continue throughout your day.

Straighten Your Desk Before Leaving Work

At the end of each work day, clean your desk or any other work area that you use in your job. This lends closure to your day and prepares the way for a new beginning when you return. If you work with a lot of papers or documents, organize them in folders or neat piles, but be sure to leave a clear space in front of you or next to your computer . . . such an open space welcomes new information. It's an invitation to the universe to keep the flow coming toward you. If you don't allow open space on your desk, you can block new opportunities and the prosperity they are trying to bring to you.

Don't Overlook Your Computer

Just because you ~ and others ~ can't see the clutter on your computer doesn't mean it isn't burdening you. Delete unwanted emails and purge anything that is no longer needed. If you must save certain emails to refer to later, move them from your general Inbox to separate folders that have been created for conscious storage. These folders can be arranged by theme or by the names of the people with whom you correspond. A cleared out Inbox invites new possibilities and new contacts ~ a cluttered one may prevent them from finding you.

Carry a Special Wallet of  Envelope

Stay better organized when you are traveling or shopping by carrying a special wallet or envelope that you use to collect receipts, business cards that are shared with you and other bits of information you might gather as you move about the world. Go through the papers in this wallet or envelope on a regular basis and record or file any information you need to keep for any reason. Shred and discard any pieces of paper you don't need. Strive to keep this wallet or envelope clear and open, so you are not carrying the past around with you in the form of outdated receipts.

Surround Yourself With Blue

The color blue in Feng Shui supports an organized life, so try to have some blue around you when you work or pay bills, etc. Royal blue is especially good. Put blue accents on your desk, use blue sticky notes or find other ways to surround yourself with the color blue.

Put a Bubbling Fountain in the North

North is the direction of new beginnings and of an organized professional life, so a bubbling fountain placed in the North of your office or living room can help activate your resolve to get ~ and stay ~ organized. Stand in the middle of the room and, using a small compass, determine which direction is north. Imagining that you are the center of a pie, draw make-believe lines to create a pie piece radiating out from you to either side of due north. Placing a fountain anywhere along the outer edge of that slice of pie will activate the north and help make staying organized easier for you.

Keep the Center Open

Keep the center of your living areas open so the energy can flow. Arrange your furniture so the middle of the room is not blocked. That way, the chi can come in and move about, energizing your thoughts and feelings and making it easier to live a happy, healthy ~ and well-organized ~ life!

Equinoxes, Solstices and Astrology

Learn All About the Fresh-Start Feeling You Get with Each New Season . . . .

Have you ever wondered about the meaning of an Equinox or Solstice and how they tie into Astrology? Not surprisingly, there's a major significance to these periods of time and they each have something in common. An Equinox or Solstice tells us about our relationship here on Earth to the Sun at any given season.

That's right . . . .  the first thing to remember about an Equinox or Solstice is that they mark the beginning of a new season. There are two Equinox points each year (Spring and Autumn) and two Solstice points (Summer and Winter). They each correspond to one of the four Cardinal signs of the Zodiac ~ also known as the Cardinal axis. This axis is extremely important in Astrology because it is where we find the powerful angles in a birth chart. These angles are points of energy manifestation. They are highly sensitive points in your chart that trigger every major life event. And there's no better tool for analyzing events in your life than an In-Depth Angel Card or Angel Tarot reading. Each of these points on the Cardinal axis will correlate to one of the four Cardinal directions (North, South, East, West).

Let's dig into the astronomy and Astrology behind Solstices and Equinoxes so that you can understand more about their implication for our life and our planet!

The Summer and Winter Solstices

By definition, a Solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice a year ~ once at the beginning of Winter and again at the start of Summer. During a Solstice, the Sun will reach its highest or lowest point relative to the celestial equator. The celestial equator is a fancy term for the giant imaginary circle that is on the same plane as our equator. The word Solstice literally means "Sun stands still," and that is exactly what appears to happen during a Solstice point from our perspective here on Earth.

Summer Solstice
During the Summer Solstice, the Sun will appear to stop and then begin declining in the slightest way each day in a southward direction. The date of the Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year because at that point the Sun stops right over the Tropic of Cancer which is the northernmost point. After a few days it will backtrack south towards the equator. The Solstice occurs on June 21 and astrologically, it coincides with the start of the Cardinal sign Cancer.

Winter Solstice
The Winter Solstice, on the other hand, occurs when the Sun appears to stand still at the southernmost point of the equator (the Tropic of Capricorn) and then slowly begins to trek north again. The Winter Solstice occurs on December 21 and marks the shortest day of the year. Astrologically, it coincides with the start of the Cardinal zodiac sign Capricorn. From a soul perspective, the Winter Solstice is about celebrating the rebirth of life in all forms. From here on out, the days will get longer, and the Sun will shine brighter. Hope is renewed.

The Spring and Fall Equinoxes

In contrast, an Equinox occurs when the tilt of the Earth's axis is neither away or towards the Sun. At this time, the center of the Sun is in the plane of the Earth's equator. What happens as a result is that the Sun is at one of two opposite points on the celestial sphere. The word Equinox is translated in Latin to mean "equal night" because during an Equinox the day and night will be at equal length.

Spring Equinox
The Spring Equinox begins on March 21 and marks the start of the new astrological year in the tropical Zodiac since the Sun will enter Aries ~ the first sign in the Zodiac. This is typically a time of new beginnings and we have come to associate the Spring Equinox with a "fresh start."

Autumn Equinox
The Fall Equinox occurs when the Sun reaches the opposite balancing point in its path through the tropical Zodiac. Once again, the day and night are of about equal length during this time. This occurs on September 21 and correlates to the sign Libra. This time of year has become connected to "harvest" and reaping the fruits of our labor. At the same time, it brings up a certain respect for the fact that now, nights will become longer, and it's time to conserve energy and resources.

Cardinal Signs Bring Life

An important point to note is that the seasonal relationship to solstices and equinoxes specifically apply to the Northern Hemisphere. Seasons in the Southern Hemisphere are reversed.

Either way, it's no accident that the Zodiac signs correlated to Equinoxes and Solstices are all Cardinal signs. Cardinal signs begin each season and are associated with qualities of initiative. Whether it's an Equinox or Solstice, we are celebrating the start of something new. Each season has a specific and essential job that we rely on for our very existence. The Equinox and Solstice points are sacred markers in time that help us connect the dots to the mystery behind the Earth's never ending circle of life.

The History of the I Ching

Find Out How the World's Oldest Oracle Evolved . . . .

The Chinese I Ching, or Book of Changes in English, represents sixty-four archetypes that make up all the possible six-line combinations of yin and yang, called hexagrams. Yin/yang is the fundamental duality of the Universe whose dynamic tension gives shape to all phenomena and the changes they go through. Examples of the yin/yang polarity are female/male, earth/heavens, dark/light, in/out, even/odd, and so on. The interpretations of the sixty-four hexagrams describe the energy of human life divided into sixty-four types of situations, relationships or dilemmas. Each hexagram can be analyzed in a number of ways. Divide the six-line forms in half and you get trigrams (three yin or yang lines) that represent the Chinese version of the eight fundamental elements: sky, earth, thunder, wind, water, fire, mountain, and lake. These eight trigrams, known as "Hua," also serve as the compass points in the ancient art of placement known as Feng Shui (pronounced fung-shway).

The I Ching is the oldest of all the classical divination systems. It is also one of the oldest books in the world. Its first interpretive text was composed around 1000 B.C. The I Ching's actual discovery and much of its early history are the stuff of legends.

There are a number of myths surrounding the origins of the eight trigrams and the development of the I Ching divination system. In one tale, Fu Hsi, the first emperor of China (2852–2737 B.C.), is said to have observed a turtle emerging from the Yellow River. Knowing that true wisdom came from the direct and close observation of nature, he had a sudden realization of the significance of eight symbols he saw on the turtle's back. He saw how the sets of three solid or broken lines, the trigrams, reflected the movement of energy in life on Earth.

A similar myth describes Fu Hsi's contemplation of other patterns in nature, including animals, plants, meteorological phenomena, and even his own body. These myths describe how he identified the trigrams that arose from his understanding of the connection of all things, through the interplay of yin and yang.

There is evidence of early Chinese divination where tortoise shells were heated over a flame until they cracked, with the emerging patterns (presumably trigrams) being read. In some cases the shells were marked with their interpretations and stored for reference.  Some of them are being preserved at the National Museum in Taiwan, China.

Another version also involving tortoise shells describes descendants of the "many Fu" ~ an ancient clan of female diviners ~ who read the shells of live turtles. According to the legend, they became the queens and royalty of the Shang Dynasty ~ which had been considered mythical until archeological evidence proving its existence was unearthed in 1899. Some say Lao Tzu, the enlightened forefather of Taoism and the author of the Tao Te Ching, was a descendent of this clan.

The Taoist/Confucian tradition posits that juxtaposing a set of the possible permutations of yin and yang with elements of Chinese creation mythology produced the foundation of the I Ching. Pairing up the various combinations of yin (the literal ancient meaning of which is the shady north side of the hill) and yang (meaning the sunny south side of the hill) gives you four primary symbols. With the addition of another yin or yang line, the eight trigrams emerge.

The earliest composition of I Ching interpretations is attributed to King Wen. Toward the end of the Shang Dynasty, when the unjust emperor Zhou Wang imprisoned Wen, he reportedly used his confinement to meditate on the trigrams, pairing them up to produce sixty-four possible hexagrams. Each pair of trigrams took on a meaning specific to their combination. In what we might assume was an enlightened state of mind, King Wen assigned each of the sixty-four hexagrams a name, adding a few sentences to explain its meaning. It is said that his son, King Wu, added additional interpretative text, bringing the I Ching closer to its current form.

Confucius, who came a few hundred years later, was possibly the I Ching's greatest patron, taking the interpretative texts to the next level with the addition of his extensive commentaries. Confucius was primarily interested in the I Ching as a manual for how to live a life of the highest virtue, as opposed to its usefulness as a divination system. According to his Analects (VII, xvi), Confucius, who lived to be an old man, is reputed to have said, “If some years were added to my life, I would devote fifty of them to the study of the oracle, and might then avoid committing great errors.”

Historical evidence substantiates the theory that the Book of Changes and its sixty-four hexagrams were part of an ancient oral tradition that predates recorded history in China. The basics of the I Ching text ~ the names of the hexagrams and their judgments ~ were likely composed in the eighth century B.C. However, the practice of using the hexagrams to refer to specific interpretations probably didn't occur until the fifth century B.C. Between 475 and 221 B.C. (known as the Warring States period), the I Ching texts were consolidated into a book to make it easier to consult and share with others during that time of extreme upheaval. Shortly after, the I Ching was spared in the Ch'in Dynasty's massive book burning because it was considered one of the five "Great Classics."

The Book of Changes was canonized and studied intently by scholars during the Han Dynasty of 202 B.C.–A.D. 220. Between the third century B.C. and the turn of the millennium, significant additions, known as the 'Wings', were written regarding the individual lines in the hexagrams, and the meaning of the trigrams. These commentaries are generally attributed to Confucius, who lived around 500 B.C. More work was done, and the I Ching we use today is not substantially different from the 168 B.C. version. The main difference is that the hexagrams appear in a different order. The order in use today was first proposed around 100 B.C., but was not the standard until the third century A.D.

Throughout what we know of Chinese history, the rulers of China, as well as the general public, used the I Ching as best they could before printing was available. It is woven into the fabric of this ancient culture and its influence has been fundamental to the Eastern worldview as a whole. It has only been in the last 150 years or so that Western culture was even exposed to basic Taoist concepts ~ such as German and English translations of the I Ching and Tao Te Ching. Carl Jung's explanation of the I Ching's psychological validity and value, and the widespread open-mindedness about all things spiritual during the 1960s, made using the I Ching a common experience in the Western world.

Nowadays, the most common method for casting the I Ching involves tossing three coins six times to create the six-line pattern, or hexagram. A traditional technique for deriving a hexagram, dating from about 500 B.C., involves a fairly complicated process of selecting and sorting fifty sticks, usually yarrow stalks. The best yarrow stalks for this were the ones that grew on Confucius' grave, but the supply was limited! After the coins or stalks are tossed and sorted out, one looks up the interpretation in the sacred book.

Gifted Guidance Weekly Astrology ~ March 16 ~ 22

March Into Spring . . . . It's Time For A Fresh Start!!

Spring is here! The Universe will celebrate Astrological New Year as the Sun moves into Aries this week. A fresh start is called for, but before that happens the Universe knows we all need to clear our plates.

Find out what's happening for you with an In-Depth Angel Tarot or Archangel Power Tarot reading!

Here's the lowdown on the key cosmic events the week of March 16-22, 2014.

Sunday, March 16 ~ Full Moon Virgo

On Sunday, a discerning Full Moon in Virgo will help us let go of whatever it is that's no longer making sense in our lives. Virgo is about efficiency and details. Full Moons can create endings, and with this lunation we're getting rid of what is wasting our time and energy.

Because Virgo also rules health, it's possible you'll finish a course of treatment for an ailment or that you'll rid yourself of an unhealthy habit, such as smoking or excessive drinking, or that you'll go through your kitchen cabinets and throw out all the junk food!

If you've been working on a major work assignment, it's likely that the days around this Full Moon will help you complete it, much to your relief!

Monday, March 17 ~ Mercury in Pisces

On Monday, Mercury will enter Pisces, your mind will be more aligned with creative thoughts and imaginative pursuits until April 7. Flesh out inspirational ideas, write poetry and make beautiful music. Your mind will also be more connected to spiritual ideals and positive thinking. Use this to your advantage.

Tuesday, March 18 ~ Venus in Aquarius sextile Uranus in Aries

Tuesday will be your best day for love, thanks to a sizzling connection between Venus in Aquarius and Uranus in Aries. Sudden love potential might help support a chance meeting with someone who makes your heart stop in its tracks! Fun and excitement will be the name of the game, so be sure to surprise your lover with an unexpected romp ~ even if it must happen during business hours!

Thursday, March 20 ~ Sun enters Aries and Spring Equinox

On Thursday, the Sun will enter Aries and it'll be a signal for everyone that it's time to start something new. Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac ~ the pioneer. You'll have an easy ability to go where no one has gone before, and to make your mark on exciting unpaved territory. The urge to launch a vital endeavor will be strong, but remember that Mars, the ruler of Aries, happens to be retrograde. If you endure a few roadblocks, try not to let it get you down. Keep on keeping on!

Saturday, March 22 ~ Mercury conjunct Neptune in Pisces

Thankfully, an inspirational connection between Mercury and Neptune in Pisces on Saturday will keep you dreaming of a bright tomorrow. Anything is possible with this combination, so think big and steer clear of those clouds that may threaten to rain on your judgment.

The Spirit World and Spirit Guides

The spirit world is another dimension that exists alongside our material reality and is populated with nonphysical beings, or spirits. It is not some place up in the sky or removed from us, but is presen
t and accessible at all times, requiring only the willingness, intention, and openness to make contact with those beings that reside there. Our awareness and consciousness are the vehicles that allow us to accomplish this.

In this alternate nonphysical reality called the spirit world, you will find ancestors, Archangels, Ascended Masters, religious figures, deceased loved ones, Fairies, and, of course, Spirit Animals. These beings are extensions of God, Source, or whatever name you give to All-That-Is, just as those of us and everything else in the material world are. What we call matter is denser and more tangible to our usual senses, whereas accessing this other dimension requires greater receptivity, heightened awareness, and a consciousness that allows for the existence of this aspect of being.

The term Spirit Guide, also known as a helping spirit or guardian spirit, is a term for any of these spiritual beings that help us in a life-positive way. We can call on them for guidance, protection, encouragement, and inspiration. Some have been with us since childhood, while others have appeared at various periods in our life, perhaps to help us through a difficult transition. We may see them, hear them, feel them, or just know they are with us, and we can have any number of Spirit Guides throughout our lives, whether we are aware of them or not. They want to help us have a more peaceful, harmonious, and happier life, yet will not interfere with our free will. They are happy to serve and willingly do so whenever called upon.

Feng Shui for Happiness

It's so easy to become consumed by responsibility. The goal of Feng Shui, however, is to lead a balanced life. That means making room ~ physical and symbolic ~ for happiness. If you are feeling overwhelmed, make a few Feng Shui adjustments to your home and work spaces.

Pretty soon, stress will give way to levity and your zest for life will be restored. Here are some tips:

Make A Toy Box ~ Creating a stash of items that give you pleasure will remind you to make time for your favorite activities. Paints, freshly sharpened pencils, paper, modeling clay, photography equipment ~ whatever your materials, devoting a space to art supplies will prompt you to become more creative. Ideally, your toy box should be kept in the center portion of the right side of your home. This area governs joy.

Improve Your Outlook ~ If your desk faces a wall, work could consume your life. Reposition your desk so you have a more inspiring view. This will remind you to balance responsibility with fun. In the event you can't change the location of your desk, hang a picture of people having a good time at eye level. That way, you'll remember you have a life outside of the office.

Color Your World ~ Avoid a monochromatic color scheme if you are prone to depression. If you like white walls, hang a colorful painting on one of the walls to serve as an uplifting focal point. If the natural world gives you joy, choose a neutral color palette of taupe, gray, brown and honey. Warm colors like red, yellow and orange are ideal for people who take pleasure from artistic activities. Cool colors like blue, green and purple are more suited to people who are happiest when relaxing.

Become An Empty Vessel ~ Happiness can't take root if there's no room for it to flourish. If your home is overflowing with things you don't want, use or need, it's time to have a garage sale. Donate anything you can't sell to charity. It's especially important to keep the right side of your home airy and spacious. If energy flows freely in this area, you'll approach life with an open and happy heart.

Open Up ~ Displaying open jars, containers and vases in the center portion of the right side of your home signals a desire to be filled with happiness. Resist the urge to fill these containers with possessions ~ remember, they are symbols of your ability to receive gifts.

Shine On, Harvest Moon ~ Symbols of the harvest can attract the happiness you desire. That's because the harvest represents humankind's ability to rejoice after a period of hard labor. If you have difficulty switching gears after work, place a picture of a ripe bowl of fruit on the right side of your home. Other good symbols include trees covered with autumn leaves, as well as family photos from Halloween and Thanksgiving.

You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby ~ Displaying pictures of yourself as a child can remind you to reconnect with the joyful, spontaneous spirit associated with youth. Choose only photos that evoke happy memories, though. If you had an unhappy childhood, you might opt for photos of baby animals.

Add Earth Energy ~ In order to be happy, you need to feel safe, secure and supported. Therefore, it's a good idea to incorporate lots of Earth energy on the right side of your home. Low furniture, mellow colors, soft textures and square shapes will let happiness enter your home.

Make The Rainbow Connection ~ Hang a faceted crystal from a window that gets lots of light. The rainbows your prism creates will dissipate any depressing energy that lingers in your home, allowing you to move forward with a light heart.

Set Yourself Free ~ Feng Shui treats your possessions as an extension of your inner life. If you are surrounded by furniture and artwork that make you sad, you need to make a change. Get rid of family heirlooms that fill you with grief. Replace them with items that are an extension of your taste and personality, because honoring your own sensibilities is the fastest route to happiness.
